Meanwhile on….Essence.com + Transitioning Movement (My Guest Posts!)
Over the past couple weeks I’ve had some groovy guest features on other sites I wanted to share with you all!
The first comes from the one and only Essence.com in a post where I reflect on an incident where I went to get one of my first natural hair trims. I was nervous about the whole situation in the first place and rather than calming my fears the stylist says “well, if I had hair like you, I’d definitely get a relaxer.” Yes it was awful, but I didn’t let it get the best of me. Check out the full article to see how it all went down!
Then I’ve been a regular contributor to Carol’s Daughter Transitioning Movement and have a couple new pieces up over there including:
- “How I Learned to Manage My Coils“: learning how to make Lola THRIVE and how you too can figure out your curl pattern
- “Beauty Sleep for Your Hair“: a primer on what I think is the most important part of a haircare routine–overnight!
- “Color Me Badd“: the story of Lola’s color and tips for caring for colored hair
Check em out! Lemme know whatcha think!!

Nice article!!! Boy were you patient. I think I would have tore her head off for being impolite!
